Lye safety
Wear suitable eye and skin protection, use an accurate scale and heat-safe equipment, and add lye slowly to the liquid — never pour liquid onto dry lye. Verify your raw-material SAP values before production.
Reference SAP values are used for calculation. Natural fats vary by source and batch. Default lye purity: 97% NaOH and 90% KOH.
